Pre/Post Treatment Care

Pre & Post cARE

How to Prepare for Your Treatment:

Following these steps will help ensure the best results and a smooth healing process:

Skin Preparation (One Week Before)

  • Gently exfoliate the area daily to remove dead skin cells and refresh the skin. This improves pigment retention, supports smoother healing and helps results last longer.

  • After exfoliating, apply a rich moisturiser to the brow area or lip balm to the lips, to keep the skin deeply hydrated.

  • Avoid tanning, sunburn, or strong exfoliation (including Retinol, Retin-A or glycolic acid products).

  • Do not have Botox, fillers, or other injectable treatments for at least two weeks before/after your appointment.

  • Ensure your skin is free of irritation, rashes, or sunburn in the area.

24 Hours Before Your Appointment

  • Avoid alcohol, caffeine and anything that may thin your blood, (ie, ibuprofen, cod liver oil, turmeric etc). These thin the blood, increasing bleeding and bruising, which can affect pigment retention.

Aftercare for Lip Blush

Healing takes time and patience. The final colour of your lips will be visible around four to twelve weeks after treatment, once the skin has fully recovered. It is normal for lips to appear their lightest between days seven and thirty as the pigment sits deeper in the skin before resurfacing.

How to Care for Your Lips

  • Keep lips dry for 5–7 days. Tilt your head back in the shower/bath and pat dry if they get wet. Drink through a straw and avoid spicy or minty foods during this time.

  • For the first two days, gently wipe your lips every hour with cool, boiled water using a cotton pad. This removes lymph fluid, which can lead to scabbing and supports smooth healing.

  • Immediately after the procedure and for at least 7 days, apply a thin layer of Lansinoh Nipple Balm regularly to keep lips hydrated. If food or debris gets on your lips, gently clean with a cotton pad and sterile water.

  • If you are prone to cold sores, begin a preventative course of antiviral medication (such as Aciclovir) a few days before/after your procedure.

Avoid for 14 Days

  • Exercise, heavy sweating, sports or gym

  • Swimming, saunas, hot baths or Jacuzzis

  • Sunbathing or tanning beds

  • Touching, picking or peeling the area

  • Heavy cleaning in dusty or dirty environments

  • Spicy foods, smoking, vaping or excessive alcohol

  • Driving in open-air vehicles such as motorbikes, bicycles, boats, or convertibles

Avoid for 30 Days before and after

  • Laser or chemical treatments

  • Products with Retinol Retin-A or glycolic acid on the face or neck

Avoid for 4 Weeks Pre & Post Treatment

  • Botox or dermal filler

What to Expect

Immediately after your Lip Blush procedure, the pigment will appear more vibrant and lips may be slightly swollen due to increased blood flow. Use ice on the lips to help reduce swelling, this lasts only for around 24 hours after the procedure. As healing begins, the colour will soften and lips may feel dry or start peeling. This is a natural part of the process and not a sign of fading, it is simply the shedding of superficial pigment and dry skin.

Over the following weeks, the true colour will gradually return and settle. Once healed, protect your lips with SPF 50 when exposed to the sun to help maintain the colour for longer.

Aftercare for Powder

Brows & Hairstroke

Brows

Healing takes time and patience. The final colour will be visible around three to four weeks after treatment, once your skin has fully recovered. It is normal for brows to appear lighter between days five and ten as the pigment sits deeper before resurfacing.

How to Care for Your Brows

  • Keep brows completely dry for 10–14 days.

  • For the first two days, gently wipe every hour with cool, boiled water to remove lymph fluid, which can form scabs.

  • From day three up until day 14, apply a very thin layer of ointment (about half a grain of rice per brow) twice daily, morning and evening.

Avoid for 14 Days

  • Exercise, heavy sweating, sports or gym

  • Swimming, saunas, hot baths or Jacuzzis

  • Sunbathing or tanning beds

  • Touching, picking or scratching the area

  • Heavy cleaning in dusty or dirty environments

  • Botox until fully healed

Avoid for 30 Days

  • Laser or chemical treatments

  • Products with Retin-A or glycolic acid on the face or neck

Additional Things to Limit

  • Spicy food, smoking, excess alcohol, and activities that cause sweating such as cycling, motorbiking or boating.

What to Expect

Immediately after your procedure, your brows will look darker and more defined. As your skin heals, you may notice flaking, itchiness, and a lighter appearance. This is a normal stage in the healing process caused by dry skin and the shedding of superficial pigment. Over the following weeks, the colour will gradually return and settle into its final shade once the skin has fully recovered.

Once healed, protect your brows with SPF 50 during sun exposure to maintain colour for longer.
