Lip Blush

Lip Blush

Our Lip Blush treatment is designed to give you even, full, and long-lasting lip colour. We offer a wide range of pigments to choose from, so you can choose a subtle or bold look that complements your natural lip colour or matches your favourite lipstick.

Please note that individuals with darker skin tones may need a colour correction treatment before their Lip Blush treatment to ensure optimal results. If you are prone to cold sores, it is important to start a course of antiviral medication before your treatment and inform your technician. The colour of your lips will be more intense for the first few days after the treatment. With Lip Blush, all you'll need is a touch of lip gloss/balm to complete your look.

AFTERCARE

Healing process after the Lip Blush procedure is not always pleasant; therefore a lot of patience is needed to finally see the healed result. True reflection of the healed colour can only be assessed around 3-4 weeks after the treatment, this is when the skin tissues have healed and recovered. Your lip colour will be in the lightest tones during days 5-10, because the colour is absorbed in deeper layers of the skin. Later skin cells push it back to the upper layers.

I. Keep your lips dry for 5-7 days. You must drink through a straw during the healing process and do not consume any spicy/minty foods as this will affect the healed results.

II. Following the procedure gently wipe your lips every hour (for two days) with cool, boiled (sterile) water and cotton pads.

III. Immediately after the procedure and for the next 7 days+ apply VASELINE. If you have food/debris stuck to your lips you can gently wipe your lips with a cotton pad and sterile (cool, boiled) water.

IIII. If you have a history of cold sores, it is highly recommended that you begin a course of anti-viral medication (such as Aciclovir) seven days before any planned procedure. This is available by prescription only with your doctor, pharmacist or online. It is crucial to help prevent an outbreak of cold sores. Additionally, it is important to avoid using Vaseline during the healing process if you are prone to cold sores.

The following must be avoided for the next 14 days post procedure:

• Increased sweating activities

• Sports / Gym

• Swimming

• Hot sauna, hot bath or Jacuzzi

• Sun tanning or salon tanning

• Picking, peeling or scratching of the micropigmented area in order to avoid scarring of the area or removal of the pigment

• Performing tasks related to heavy household cleaning such as garage or basement cleaning where there is a lot of airborne debris

• No laser or chemical treatments or peelings, and/or any creams containing Retin-A or Glycolic Acid on the face or neck for 30 days

•No Botox or filler 4 weeks pre or post procedure.

The following can also be a factor to consider which can increase sweating or affect the skin:

• Spicy foods

• Smoking

• Drinking alcohol in excess as it may lead to slow healing of wounds

• Driving in open air vehicles such as convertibles, boats, bicycles or motorcycles

Your new semi-permanent lip colour will go through several phases during the healing cycle:

Immediately following a Lip Blush procedure, it is normal for the pigment to appear red, dark, and vibrant. Swelling may also occur due to increased blood flow during the procedure. As the healing process begins, the color may appear to soften gradually. During this time, it is common for the lips to appear dry and peeling, which may give the impression that the pigment is fading quickly. However, this is a natural part of the healing process and is due to the shedding of superficial color and dry skin.

Once the healing process is complete, it is important to protect your lips from sun exposure by applying a layer of SPF 50 sunscreen. This will help prevent the pigment from fading prematurely.
