MICROBLADING PROCESS
Eyebrows not only frame the face, over 70% of your facial expressions depend on them and that is why the right brow shape and colour is so crucial. Eyebrows that are perfectly positioned and shaped, seriously enhance your features and can even make you look younger.
Whether your eyebrows have been overplucked, lost due to alopecia, previous chemotherapy, need a re-shape or just need a little filled out, Microblading is the answer for you. The beauty of Microblading is that you do not have to have any eyebrow hair to start with, we can create you the perfect pair of eyebrows from scratch.
A technique that was first discovered thousands of years ago using a super fine microblade to etch lines into the skin that flow in the same direction as your own hairs, this is the ideal brow look for those who want an extra natural and soft effect with the pigment being placed into a higher layer of the skin.
All equipment used for the procedure is single use and sterile, adhering to strict comprehensive guidelines to prevent cross contamination and minimise the risk of infection.
The Consultation:
We offer FREE, no obligation, Consultation appointments to enable you to find out more about the procedure, meet your qualified practitioner, Sophie Taft and ask all questions you may have.
The appointment is around 15 minutes and gives the opportunity to discuss Microblading in depth and establish what you would like from the procedure. Sophie will assess your skin type, discuss relevant medical conditions and determine your eligibility for the procedure. Unfortunately some individuals may not be suitable for Microblading due to the below health conditions or skin type:
— Oily skin
— Previous Keloid Scarring
— Diabetes
— Nickel or Metal Allergy
— Cancer/Chemotherapy/Radiation
— Pregnant or Breastfeeding
— Epilepsy
— Haemophilia
— HIV
A pigment patch test will be taken at the Consultation, providing you are eligible for Microblading, to establish any allergies to the pigment at least 48 hours prior to the procedure.
The Procedure:
At the beginning of the procedure Sophie will use measuring tools to map out your eyebrows. The shape will be bespoke to you as an individual and will take into consideration your desired results, you will agree the shape before the procedure. Microblading pigment will be discussed and mixed to suit your skin tone as any shade required can be mixed, whether it be blonde eyebrows, taupe, auburn, light brown or something darker.
Microblading is a form of semi-permanent make up where pigment is implanted into the top layers of the skin, using a handheld tool, to create the desired fullness and shape of the eyebrows. This handheld tool is scraped across the skin, after being dipped into pigment, creating tiny, superficial hair like strokes. Once the pigment has soaked in and healed, your eyebrows will give the appearance of fuller, defined brows with the microstrokes resembling natural hairs.
The procedure takes around 2.5 hours in total and slight discomfort is to be expected.
All clients will need a touch up appointment between 4-6 weeks after the initial Microblading. This is essential as the skin does not usually accept the pigment entirely on the first session and there may be areas where pigment has faded. This touch up appointment is included in the initial cost.
The Top-Up:
Microblading can last between 6-18 months (or even longer!) depending on how well your skin retains pigment and also lifestyle factors.
Microblading is a form of tattooing that uses semi-permanent pigment which will gradually fade away. It is important to keep your eyebrows “topped up” when they begin to fade as the colour will slowly disintegrate and you will need a fresh top-up of colour to keep your brows defined.
Aftercare and Healing:
After having your eyebrows Microbladed you must be prepared to care for them properly to give your skin the best possible pigment retention. This involves not wetting your eyebrow’s for 10 days, preventing excessive sweating and applying ointment to the eyebrows 4 times a day. Caring for your eyebrows after the treatment will be discussed in depth at the Consultation and is crucial in achieving the best results.
Microblading is more of a natural looking form of semi-permanent make-up and therefore it takes time to build the perfect eyebrows. It is a process whereby the skin has to heal properly between appointments, which takes around 4 weeks at a time.
Initially the skin will not retain the pigment perfectly and this is why all client’s require a touch up appointment. It takes around 8 weeks after the initial procedure to reveal true results from your Microbladed eyebrows. (It is so worth it!).
